One letter addressed to Nancy Anderson from Ellis H. Garaudy dated August 26, 1969. Pertains to feeling homesick, Nancy's upcoming birthday, promotion to sergeant and news about the area where he is stationed. Refers to the Pleiku area as quiet and surrounded by communists. Garaudy remarks that the opposing forces outnumber them and tells her he saw the remains of three GI's in a plastic bag. Garaudy will be leaving on September 3, 1969 and returning to Phan Rang and then home. He tells Nancy he will be on leave from September 16, 1969 until October 15, 1969. He refers to the murders "back home" and the "morale problem" associated with the war in Vietnam.
