One letter from Leonard Eugene Graeff to Susan Prowell Graeff and Raymond James Graeff dated January 14, 1944. Leonard updates his parents on his day writing that it was a typical Sunday going to a movie in the morning and a dance in the afternoon. He did not go to church. He wrote to Aunt Viola and sent her a picture. He also wrote to Dick Miller who had recently visited Paris. Miller informed Leonard all about the women in Paris. Leonard mentions a letter from Lorraine and that she is very blunt when she writes but he like that. He hopes to get together with Herman soon, but jokes that he may not recognize him as he apparently has put on weight. Robert Winemiller is with a service company and seems to be doing okay. He hasn't heard from Stouffer or Moyer recently but Mrs. Stouffer mentioned Wayne was hospitalized and Mrs. Moyer reported that Moyer was in England enjoying himself. Leonard comments about Moyers's enjoyment writing, "Then I say what officer would' t. Therese two Wars, one for the enlisted man and one for officers and there's a world of difference between the two, believe me." Leonard also comments on the weather and sympathizes with the amount of snow his parents are getting. He mentions hearing about the weather from June, who is going to college and no longer engaged. He adds as a P.S. that he went to the dentist and had three fillings.
