One letter Raymond James Graeff and Susan Prowell Graeff to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated October 22, 1944. Raymond writes that it was his turn to write. He updates Leonard on his recent chores and the weather. He also mentions that 83 American prisoners of war were released and a fleet of British ships was headed to Japan. He also responds to a comment Leonard made about maybe having been better off taking a job in Hawaii before he was drafted by writing that the recent drafts have been focused in that area, and in Panama. So already working there wouldn't have helped. Also William Bryan is 34 years old, has a wife and one child, which is why he hasn't been drafted. Raymond went to the market and had trouble getting any meat, he comments that butter is 20 points for a pound. He also mentions other food and their point values.
