One letter from Leonard Eugene Graeff to Susan Prowell Graeff and Raymond James Graeff dated August 23, 1944. He updates his parents on a lack of letters. He received the box of cookies and newspapers they sent. He shared with the other servicemen. He has a liberty coming up but does not plan on leaving base, except to pick up some photos he had taken. All the other sailors are sick with sore throats but he is okay. He also updates them on the cards he received for his birthday. He has eight cards now, including one from Lulu who asked for a photograph. He also heard from Dottie Erickson, who reported that she visited Susan.
