Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

One black and white photograph dated May 1970 taken by Kevin Bleicher. Picture are students gathered in front of Hagerty Hall. Some students are carrying flags, other people can be seen watching from the second floor window of the hall.

Hagerty Hall was the location of the College of Administrative Science.

Protests at Ohio State University began with three groups demonstrating; a black student protest group, a women's equality advocacy group, and anti-Vietnam war group.
