Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

One notice of a talk from John Elliott dated April 21, 1924. Notifies that Arthur Rul will be giving an informal talk on conditions in Russia. Gives his accreditations to speak on the matter and subjects to be covered will be "cities, railroads, postal service, hotels, theatres, museums, factories, trade, etc."
