Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Livingstons transactions with Campbell, taking place 3 July 1697 and 25 January 1698, include the sale of Oxenbriggs and Clover seed. P.1 contains a note from 16 May 1699, and the date on the docket is 6 September 1698.
