At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Davis, a former member of the Manson family, writes about teaching an Old Testament Survey course and a spiritual Freedom and maturity class. He responds to a religious dilemma about creation posed by Sanders. He discusses collecting and the commercial value of Manson letters and ends by explaining how Charles Manson interpreted Beatle lyrics to suit his purpose. Also includes a photo of Davis with his wife and an Internet usenet transcript of "BreakPoint," a Prison Fellowship radio program hosted by Chuck Colson (GLC05508.081.02, GLC05508.081.03).
