Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Also signed by Francis Williamson and one other person. Joane Wooledge petitions to be given her cousin, Robert Hoskins's estate, since he has no will or heir. Further, she asks that Captain Henry Greenland and James Boller be appointed her guardians. Signed as Governor of the Province of New Jersey.
