Full Transcript: Norwich Town Nov. 1. 1862 Capt. C. M. Coit, My Dear sir, Mrs. La- throp called upon me this week to inquire re specting a movement which she had been told was in progress to raise funds to procure a mon- ument for her hus band the late Dr. Lathrop. Your sister on whom I called today thinks you have deposited some- thing, & that you inti mate that you had not done making collections. Please in- form me how the matter stands, and if your collections are finished how the donors would have the funds expended This I write not by re quest of Mrs. Lathrop, but at my own suggestion.
