At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

This poster features a quote of Franklin Delano Roosevelt from February 3rd 1943. He discusses citizenship, in red it reads "Americanism is not, and never was, a matter of race or ancestry." The poster also has an image of an eagle holding the flag on the top, and the presidential seal on the bottom. This poster is OWI poster no. 75 and has the number O-533582 on the bottom corner.
