One photograph entitled, "George Washington," taken by Keith Carter dated 1990. Image is of a young Black boy holding a gilt-framed print of Gilbert Stuart's "Athenaeum," a portrait of President George Washington.

Photograph was taken during a commercial assignment Carter completed for New York Times Sunday Magazine on Louisiana State Penitentiary. The boy, a resident of one of the houses on the single road leading to the prison, was playing outside when Carter passed by. Before taking his photograph, Carter asked the boy if he wanted to pose with an object, to which the boy dashed into his home and returned with the "Athenaeum" portrait. The print is numbered on verso as 23 of 50 and is signed by Carter.
