Waugh, a reverend, writes to Pringle in Deptford, a township in London. In the first paragraph, which is struck, Waugh insists that Pringle meet Mrs. Gregory. Introduces Mr. Elliot, who bears this letter. Waugh hopes that Elliot will be useful in Pringle's society (possibly the Anti-Slavery Society). Notes Elliot's acquaintances, referring to his travels on the European continent and his association with James Montgomery, who wrote the poem "The Wanderer of Switzerland." Attached to a brown paper frame.

Pringle was a Scottish poet and abolitionist.
