Students and teachers: Log in or register before filling out the form in order to receive one of your 5 free copies per year.
To facilitate your research, you can order reference copies of materials from the Gilder Lehrman Collection using the online form below. Reference copies are PDFs of items from our collection. PDFs cost $10 per item.
Five reference copies per calendar year are provided for free to K–12 teachers and students at Gilder Lehrman Affiliate Schools. To check whether your school is an Affiliate School, click here for a list of registered schools. If your school is not an Affiliate School, find out how to register here. If you are a K-12 teacher and do not provide your school information, we cannot verify your affiliate status, and you will receive a payment link.

Copyright Notice
The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
