Springfield College–Gilder Lehrman Institute History Scholarship

The Gilder Lehrman Institute and Springfield College are pleased to offer the Springfield College–Gilder Lehrman Institute History Scholarship. Each year, Springfield College will provide one scholarship at $5,000 per year for four years (assuming continued eligibility).

About Springfield College

Since 1885, Springfield College has made a difference in the world. Our commitment to the Humanics philosophy is what sets us apart. You may be asking, “what is that?” We’re always happy to share. The Humanics philosophy calls for educating students in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to others. No one else has it. We focus on helping students develop the whole person so they can serve as leaders in their communities, organizations, companies–wherever their next steps take them.

Students applying for this scholarship must be offered admission to either the History or History/Secondary Education major.

How to Apply

Students will be asked to write an essay expressing their interest in the discipline of history and their desire to be considered for the scholarship upon their acceptance to the College. Further information can be obtained by contacting Mary DeAngelo, Dean of Admissions, at mdeangelo@springfieldcollege.edu
