Opening Ceremony: Freedom Riders Traveling Exhibition at Columbus State University

Columbus State University’s History & Geography Department will kickoff its Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle programming with an opening ceremony for the Freedom Riders Traveling Exhibition, developed by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Charles Person, one of the original Freedom Riders featured in the film, will speak.

This event is free and open to the public. The Freedom Riders traveling exhibition will be displayed in Schwob Memorial Library for one month. Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle is funded in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of its Bridging Cultures initiative, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
