The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History will award up to twelve grants of up to $400 to affiliate libraries for K−12 student-focused programs on American history themes or topics.
Only libraries that are members of the Gilder Lehrman Library Affiliate Program are eligible to apply for this grant. The Gilder Lehrman Library Affiliate Grant runs two cycles each year. The upcoming cycle will be the Fall–Winter 2017 cycle. Each cycle will have six winners, with a total of up to twelve grants allocated each year.
The Fall–Winter 2017 grant cycle will open on August 15, 2017, and will have a September 15 application deadline. Applicants can expect to be notified on October 2, 2017. The grant for this period will cover programming held between November 1, 2017, and May 1, 2018.
The Spring–Summer 2018 grant cycle will open on February 15, 2018, and will have a March 15 deadline. Applicants can expect to be notified on April 2, 2018. The grant for this period will cover programming held between May 1, 2018, and November 1, 2018.
Applications are currently closed and will reopen on February 15, 2018.
