Manuscript title page reads: "Members of the Provisional Congress of the Confederate States, Howell Cobb, President of the Congress, Athens, Georgia." "Athens, Georgia," on the manuscript title page and Cobb's signature there are in Cobb's hand. Collected by William H. Talman while he was a page to the Provisional Congress of the Confederate States. With more than eighty-one autographs, including presiding officer Howell Cobb, his brother Thomas R. Cobb, Albert Rust, Thomas Neville Waul, and Louis Trezevant Wigfall. With Talman's occasional annotations in pencil. Wallpaper or embossed ribbon endpapers. Contains signatures of seven men who would become generals and others who would become cabinet members. The date reflects the tenure of the Provisional Congress. Talman sold the album to Jehu Amaziah Orr, a Confederate congressman from Mississippi, who signed on the paste down on the inside cover. Dated February 4, 1861-February 17, 1862.
