Co-signed with William Trent on verso. Witnessed by Francis Lee, Cornelius C. Roosevelt, and an illegible name. Legal agreement made for the transfer of ownership of Indian land. Made between Colonel William Grayson, a wealthy Virginia landowner and Revolutionary hero of the Battle of Monmouth (and a future Congressman) and Major William Trent of New Jersey in which Trent will sell "Nine Hundred Shares or three Votes and the Lands which the said Nine Hundred Shares or three votes entitles a Person to in the Retribution Grant made by the Six Nations to their Traders at Fort Stanwix" in 1768. Grayson agrees to pay Trent 1200 pounds. Will pay 600 pounds in six months and another 600 pounds after 12 months. Says "it is just agreed if the continental Money should grow better that the said Trent is to receive it at what the Value is at this Town, but if it should grow worse than it is to be paid to Him without Regard to its Depreceation." At the time this document was signed, Grayson was on the Board of War in Philadelphia.
