Pecker reports that he recently returned from the country, where he was confined for five weeks while sick, in addition to being sick for three weeks before that with small pox. He is now healthy again and sends love and good wishes to his family. Pecker was a surgeon serving in the 10th Massachusetts in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
