Written by Peters as the Secretary for the Board of War. Receipt says to pay Thomas Hughes, regimental paymaster of the 7th Virginia Battalion, two months wages for the soldiers under his jurisdiction. Says he is to be accountable to the Pay Master General on joining the army, so Hughes might have just recently entered the army.
