From the front [to back], the book acts as a narrative diary, and includes drawings and descriptions of machinery for water works, steel manufacturing, and other industrial pursuits. From the back [to front], the book is an expense account beginning shortly before Archer embarked on the trip. The middle of the book recounts vacation in Ireland, Scotland, London, Paris and Germany with a list of purchases made in these countries. Calf bound, title inscribed on front cover in Archer's hand.
