Expresses joy to his sister-in-law that his daughter Julia Webster arrived at his location with her children. Instructs Paige to give his love to Caroline (likely one of the Paige's children) and her babies.

Thursday Evg
Dear Harriette,
I thank you for your kind note, but it is out of all possibility that I should be in Boston tomorrow. I have not been out of the house today, & have suffered more than any but one, this year. Add to this, [illegible] [illegible], at 5 oclock, it is set in to rain, with every appearance of a top storm. [2] Happily Julia arrived with her children before the rain; They quite cheer us up. I need it, for I confess I am a good deal under pan.
Give my love, Dear Harriette, to your husband & children, & to Caroline & her babies. I never come up to look at you all, one of these days. Mrs [3] Webster sends you her very best love - & [illegible], she thanks you for a very nice loaf of bread.
