Major Shaw, an aide-de-camp to General Knox, ordered James Forsyth the Commissary of West Point to issue Captain Vincent and his "companions, friendly indians" 3 pints of rum "to drink the health of Congress." Also orders 3 pounds of soap to be given to them to wash their shirts. Docket signed by Vincent that they received the rum and soap.
