I have written you this day which you will receive by the post-
This will be handed you by a young Gentleman for whom I have the highest esteem- it is Mr. Judah Hayes the son of my worthy and very good friend M. M. Hayes Esqr- he is on a visit to New York for a few weeks & having but few or no acquaintances in that City, I wish you to take him by the hand and give him your countenance- he has an amiable mind, and is a young man of real and substantial merit-
