Received his letter via Captain [Thomas] Vose, and is happy to hear that an "Establishment is making at the Fort and Block-House Farms." Has helped Vose set up a fence around the property, and also helped him explain to the people that they now have "an opportunity of discharging their Debts to him [Vose] as your Agent." Believes Vose to be "a Man of a good Disposition and Genius" and will help him in matters likely to promote Knox's interests. Reports that he has discussed the "affairs at Waldoborough" with Mr. Waterman Thomas and Mr. Jacob Ludwig. Discusses the local opinions about the petitions before the General Court regarding the Waldo patent lands. Mentions payment of taxes as well as permitting some people to occupy and improve lots of land.
