Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Response to GLC02437.04201. Writes that he is sorry he wasn't available when Bourne tried to visit in person. Adds that he would be happy to send him the money owed Bourne from Mr. [Thomas] Flucker's estate, but he has not yet received any money through the estate for the purpose.
