A journal taken while surveying the Waldo patent, along with Captain Jonathan Hill, Surveyor, for Henry Knox. Written in various locations throughout Maine. Contains "A General description of the land - the Situation - the Various Soils, Timber Rivers Ponds and Principal Stream upon the Patent." Notes that they are being prevented from surveying the shore near Ducktrap by Samuel Ely and his disciples, under the threat of severe punishment. Last entry dated 12 August 1793.
