Requesting that Wallace send him an engineering officer, to help him plan new defensive works. Endorsement on verso, stating that the request was received and referred to General Wright. Endorsement reads "By order. Maj. Genl Wallace. J.C. Kelton Jr. A D C." Endorsement is likely an autograph endorsement signed by Wallace. J. C. Kelton is John Cunningham Kelton, a Union Adjutant General.
