Valentine Gardner informs Robert, Jr. that he has just wed Alida Livingston, and begs forgiveness for having rushed into it without Robert, Jr.'s consent. He assures Robert, Jr. that he will be a most faithful husband and will make Robert, Jr.'s daughter extremely happy. He also gives Robert, Jr. a description of his family and background in order to assure him that he is of high standing and worthy of Alida's affections. Docketed on verso.
