Mosby misspells Greeley's name.
Warrenton, Va. July 28th 1872
My dear Sir
I intend speaking at Salem next Saturday_ Aug _ 3d at 3.O.C. P.M. - & wd be glad to see you & other friends there on that that day _ I have been subjected to a great deal of misconstruction by those who either do not understand my position or the issues of the canvass. I think I can show to any candid mind that no Southern man should vote for Greely over Grant & that the election of Greely [struck: w] offers no relief from any of those evils of [inserted: bad] government.
Very Truly
Jno: S. Mosby
Edw - C. Turner Esqr
[docket]
From
John S. Mosby.
1872.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
