Written by Wainwright of the Coast Survey to Professor Bache as superintendent Coast Survey. Says he referred to the Navy Register and found out Lieutenant Trenchard outranks Lieutenant Murray, which eliminates all problems of having Murray with him. Says he received a letter from Trenchard that said he was making soundings one mile below Aikins[?], but that he is on his way to Richmond.
