Writes to his brother-in-law giving him updates on different members of the community. Reports on the whereabouts of Joseph, his son's, military regiment. Describes a battle that Joseph wrote to him about, which involved General William Nelson, writing that "the Bullets flew like hail and one of them came so close that it skinned his nose."
