Writes to his wife from Fairfax Seminary Hospital to let her know where he is. He reports that he could not move along with the rest of the regiment as he is "quite lame." He speculates that he will "get over it when warm weather comes" so "do not worry about me..." Letter is short as "it is dredful hard work for me to write now for my back is lame as well as hip..." Tells her that they have not been paid for five months. Letter is addressed to Masonville in Delaware County, New York.
