Written by Anna to her brother Henry. Not signed, but handwriting matches previous signed letters by Anna. References receiving Henry's letter of 13 December. Updates him on friends and family and says she received a letter from their sister Eliza that described his trip to Baltimore. Says that "You say you expect the large ships will not have to stay as long, that the army and gunboats will finish." She knows he is in danger "but by the time you read this it will be over, safely I hope and trust." Sent some books to him, but will not send more until he tells her he got them. Some stains, probably from water.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
