A print of a photograph of the headquarters of the 1st Brigade, Horse Artillery in Brandy Station, VA. Brick chimneys have been added to the tents. One has a barrel placed on top of it. Soldiers stand near the flag pole and one soldier stands to the left of the door of the log cabin. A black soldier stands to the right of the door to the cabin, near the wood pile. Inscription on verso: "Gardner XI (or IX) 637."
