Mary Lincoln may have still been mourning the loss of her son Willie (died 2/20/1862) when this photograph was taken. Imprint on recto "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1865 by E & HT Anthony in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the U.S. for the So. District of New York." Graphite notation on verso: "Mrs. Abraham Lincoln" and "25-." Photographers imprint on verso "Published by E. & H.T. Anthony, 501 Broadway, New York. Manufactures of the best Photographic Albums." Cancelled Orange two-cent tax stamp on verso.
