Printed broadside published by Confederate Calvary General Morgan and Assistant Adjutant General R.A. Alston. Proclaims that he has not come among the people to disturb them of their rights of person or property. Says the Home Guards are required to come in at once and those that do not will be considered enemies of the government "and treated accordingly." Says those who comply will be treated as non-combatants and private citizens. Those "who seek opportunity to ambush our soldiers commonly known as 'Bushwhackers' will be regarded as outlaws, and orders will be issued to shoot them." Threatens to "lay waste the entire surrounding neighborhood" if his men are fired on.
