Writes that the death of Hartman's son has occasioned "great mourning." Thanks Ogden for her kindness and requests that his son's body be sent to the family in Wisconsin. Asks whether the remains will be transported, or whether he will have to come to Philadelphia himself. Also asks what his son said last. In a postscript, states that Ogden will not have to have her letter translated.
