This Confederate prison was situated on Carey Street, and was originally a stron old brick warehouse, until it was converted into a prison. Rebel soldiers are in the foreground, and the Rebel flag floats on top. Startling stories are told of expereinces, suffering and starvation, endured by many Union soldiers once confined in this gloomy building during the war."
