Beauregard encloses "a copy of the Plans of the Battle of Shiloh made to accompany my Report of said Battle. It will enable you better to understand my explanation the other day." Beauregard, by not pursuing a final attack on Ulysses S. Grant at Shiloh, allowed the Federal forces to regroup and achieve victory. The name of the recipient has been cut-off. 1 black and white bust engraving of Beauregard included.
