President Lincoln's views on the principles involved in the Clement Vallandigham case. Prints correspondence between Lincoln and Erastus Corning in relation to a Democratic meeting held at Albany, New York 16 May 1863, called to protest the arrest and expulsion of Vallandigham based on the freedom of speech.
