Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Describes a visit to the U.S.O, during which he confirmed with the head of the U.S.O. that there would be a room for Estelle to stay in for the evening of July 18th. Sid warns Estelle, however, that soldiers are being shipped daily so he cannot be entirely certain that he will still be on the training camp at that date.
