Is well and enjoying himself. Hates to write a letter and then send it many days later. Will write a longer letter to them soon. General Grant visited the corps last Friday. Sheridan appears to know what he is doing; "he keeps a shark look out for General Early and goes out himself to the front." Needs a pair of gloves and some more envelopes. Wants the gloves to be made now so that they can be sent for come winter in a moment's notice. Does not want to be as demanding as he was last winter, so he is giving them as much notice as possible. Will send some money home when he gets paid. Will write to Ann in a day or so. Sends his love to everyone back home.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
