Abolitionist's diary of his African trip. Includes several eye witness accounts of the slave trade, an engraving of the decks of a slave ship, and a foldout map. "In this condition, naked, they are stowed in close to one another. Frequently they are also shackled and handcuffed together, two and two (right leg of one to the left leg of the next and also the arms) to prevent their rising on the captors."
