Letter from "Gerrry" to "Grand." "Gerry" is most likely Geraldine Pinn, James T. Williams II's wife or Geraldine Williams, his sister. "Grand" is most likely Cordelia Williams. "Gerry" writes that she thought about the recipient recently and planned to write but then people visited and she was not able to. She says that she put flowers on Jimmie's grave, who most likely is James T. Williams II. She also says that she always gives the Church flowers on the first Sunday of November in his memory. She also tries to get to Church that Sunday. She says it is funny that the recipient said she wants to buy a hat because in her Church people do not wear hats. She also said that at one point people needed to cover their heads to enter, like in the Catholic Church. She has not bought a hat since Rolland died in 1967. She asks if the recipient is still going to Sunday School and Church. "Gerry" says that "Grand" is very smart and that she is "so happy that you keep up so well." She asks how the mayor is doing and says "I know the whites are flipping over having a Black man in power." She asks for Gerry, Harold, and Virginia's birthdates, which are all in December. She and someone else are meeting some people in New York for Thanksgiving, including a man named Harry, who may be James II's son. They will all go to a play before heading back to Washington. She wanted to spend Thanksgiving in Washinton but Walter, most likely her second husband, wants to celebrate it with his family in Hempstead, N.Y. She says she wants to see the Twitty's soon. She will spent Christmas with Karen and her family. It is becoming more cool outside. She asks if the recipient sees Mandy Curtis Steptel and to tell her hello. She says to take care and to be aware of burglars because there have been seven break ins in the neighborhood. She thought about getting a dog but decided against it. The writes asks to write and signs off "sincerely, Gerry."
