One letter from Susan Prowell Graeff and Raymond James Graeff to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated October 22, 1943. Susan writes that it has been a busy week. There was fire wood and kindling they had that Malinda wanted, so Raymond had to bring it over. She also cleaned the house a bit and had a doctor's appointment. Susan mentions Fall orders came in and she managed to get herself a new sweater, table cloth, pocket book, house dress and a general wear dress. She mentions sending him a box of peanuts. She mentions visiting Malinda, and showing his photo to her. Malinda really likes it and would like one of him as well. Frank Baylee is moving into Mrs. Orris's house to take care of her after a fall. Susan mentions the suit that Lill is making Betty. She says the skirt is done and looks "swell," and Lill is hoping it is finished when Leonard is on leave so she can show him. Susan asks if Leonard is getting anxious to be home and if he knows what is happening with Russell Winemiller and "Fuzzie." Raymond got a new pen so hopefully he will write Leonard now. Susan also mentions that antifreeze is only available in large drums not small cans so you have to go to a mechanic to have it added.
