One newspaper clipping sent by Mrs. E.M. Stouffer to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated January 25, 1945. The clipping features three men in sailor's uniforms standing next to a bus talking to W.A.V.E.S inside. The caption reads, "The Early Bird Gets The Chicks. Beating their buddies to the punch, three sailors angle for dates with a newly -arrived contingent of WAVES. There were more than 200 Navy gals in this first large group to hit Hawaii. When the WAVES disembarked a Navy band was on hand to say "Aloha."" One sailor was labeled "Leonard." There is no indication of the newspaper the clipping was from.
