One copy of a weekly publication entitled, "The Christian Century," dated May 30, 1956. Item is a reprint of an article, "A Southerner Looks at 'Moderation,'" by Albert E. Barnett responding to author William Faulkner's "plea for a 'go slow' policy in desegregation." Responds that Faulkner's remarks that African Americans must be patient and "exercise forbearance" is an attitude meant to alleviate social pressure and will not result in any real change.
