One wirephoto released by United Press International dated September 15, 1960. This photo is a composite of three images. Two images are missiles launching. The middle image is of an explosion. The attached press release explains that the explosion pictured was caused by the collision of the two pictured missiles 19 miles over White Sands. The missiles were launched as a test of the program, and the Hercules missile system. The back is stamped with United Press International information.
